Our lines

Bred in colonies. Selected every generation.

Swordtails are livebearers that breed in groups. In each colony tank several males and females cross freely, and every generation we keep only the fish that move the line forward.

01A colony per variety

Red Alpha, Red Ruby and Marble each live in their own tanks, with several males and many females.

02Many crosses, every month

Females drop fry every four to six weeks. The young come from many crosses, which keeps the line healthy.

03Selection, not pairing

We grow the fry out, keep the best colour and fins in the colony and list the rest one by one.
